A Flower With Weird Leaves

What the heck kind of flower is this...
does anyone know?
My youngest son brought it home from school
(everyone in his class grew a plant)
but he was never told what kind it was.
I just watered it because, as you can tell,
it was getting dry
(look at the leaves turning brown on the edges).
My wife thinks it's a petunia
with something else growing that producing the leaves.
I think if it's all the same plant,
it looks like a cross between a petunia and leaf lettuce!
Maybe we ought to name it Audrey Jr.!
Feeeeed Meeeeee.....FEEEEED MEEEEE !!!
Wahhhh!!!....I'M HUNGREEEEEY !!!!
HA!

I have no idea.
My knowledge of flowers is limited to Dandelions, Roses, and Lillies.
However, I did help my landlord with some potting the weekend before last.
Haha, no clue. Pretty though.
i'd swear that's a petunia, too. but the leaves are weird, huh? they look more like the leaves on a gerbera daisy. i wonder if there was some shackin up going on at the nursery.
Maybe I could sell it and get rich, huh? A unique hybrid?
At first glance, I had the same thought as Patricia. Looks like a petunia to me. Leaf identification means nothing to me. ;-)
Um... it looks like a flower to me.
